How Virtual Consultations Work

Jewelry is not only customizable but also flexible.

We are now offering remote consultations to design something personal and unique. Make a virtual consultation through Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime, where a designer will meet with you from the comfort and safety of your own home.

How to get started:

Give us a call, email, or click here to make an appointment. A designer will confirm the meeting and give you a sheet of jewelry questions that could help you decide on a direction for your design before the meeting.

Some parts of a custom jewelry design have no choice but to have a face to face consultation, but there are so many ways a virtual consultation can be the best and safest choice.

Don't forget, you can save $425 on your custom jewelry design until the end of August.

Jewelry Made in the United States of America

There is no better time than now to buy commodities made in the USA. Use of the term "Shop Local" is more critical to our economy than ever before.

There is no question that everything made by Medlars Jewel Masters is crafted in-store, located in San Antonio, Texas. But we also carry other American jewelry brands and American jewelry manufacturers. Some of the most popular decorative art and fixtures in our store are also made locally by Gini Garcia, of Garcia Art Glass.

Precious Metals and COVID-19

The first known cases of COVID-19 in the US were reported in February. At that time, gold was in the $1550 per ounce range. At the beginning of July, the spot price for gold was over $1800 per ounce. Silver, platinum, and palladium have not followed suit (gainsvillecoins.com).

It's essential to remember that unlike the other metals, gold is another form of currency. After spiking on COVID-19 concerns in March, the dollar index has been in a steady decline (marketwatch.com). Investors are worried about the Fed's exploding balance sheet and M1 money supply. At the same time, 20 million American's are unemployed, and consumer credit defaults are shooting up.

Here's a scary statistic: In Texas alone, more businesses have filed for bankruptcy through May than filed during the entire Great Recession. Then there's our government's determination just to spend more (houstonchronicle.com).

As you all know, I am a gold bug and have been since 2000. I am a firm believer that gold prices will head much higher. And I believe this time is different economically. Those historical economic differences keep me from having the same faith in the other precious metals or Bitcoin.
